The Coronavirus has tossed a proverbial Monkeywrench into the business world. Governments across the globe are recommending and mandating various levels of quarantine in an effort to limit worldwide infection. Here in the United States, it is no different, and many companies are activating Work-From-Home (WFH) policies for ALL non-essential employees that had been previously reserved for only a portion of their teams.
Leaders are challenged with keeping business moving forward, and the front lines have their hands full with “getting things done” in a WFW atmosphere. These times cannot be further hindered by servers, applications, and entire Networks becoming inoperable. That is the nightmare that a large company in the midwest almost experienced last week.
Thousands of their employees were sent home for self-quarantine and became extremely dependent on the infrastructure keeping their business open. However, their on-site Data Center was experiencing an issue with Uninterruptible Power Systems. These Vertiv 500KVA UPSs were functioning correctly, but issuing an alarm due to battery discharge. Normally, an on-duty technician would have been able to address this issue, but this time, the only person to investigate the beeping was a Security Guard on rounds.
Security Guard (thankfully) called Facilities Manager.
Facilities Manager (frantically) called a Critical Labs representative, who shared the many highlights* of their solution, including its:
The Facilities Manager saw the immediate (and long-term) value in Critical Labs, and the peace of mind from being able to monitor the state of Critical Infrastructure in their Data Center… from the comfort of their home.
We are amidst a “New Normal”, and Critical Labs is able to improve navigating this landscape with their secure, cloud monitoring and analytics platform that makes it easy to see what’s going on in your critical infrastructure at anytime from anywhere.
